My Yoga Teacher Training – 200hr

Dates: January 2nd – May 3rd 2026

In My Yoga Teacher Training you will dive within and lead from the portal of the heart – personal consciousness, wisdom, intuition, and love.  This is a time in your life to open yourself to the vastness of possibility available to you – a gateway toward your purpose, grounding with clarity of who you are – and who you are becoming. My Yoga teacher training will keenly connect to the inner yoga and study of self. The inward focus will enrich & deepen your yoga alongside the path of expanding your practice & developing into an authentic teacher – shining your energy and heart within & alongside the rich yoga heritage.

The lineage of this school streams from Ashtanga & Bhakti – but this training will infuse alternate descents + focus on your essence & experience, your yoga.

The forefront of this training will begin with honor in the foundations of Philosophy + History of yoga alongside a practical approach to teaching.  You will begin to study & cue the yoga asanas & pranayama in week two and throughout the rest of the yoga school.  You will develop your niche in teaching & sprinkle in themes + your heart.

Furthermore, study and absorption of Chakras, Upanishads, Bhagavad Gita, Pranayama, Music & Mantra, Meditation, Prenatal Yoga, Anatomy, Physiology, Biomechanics, Koshas, Mudras, Business of Yoga, Unique sequencing, Hands on Adjustments, and so much more will be a part of this beautiful journey.

The intention of this school being a 5 month program is that you not only learn how to teach yoga, but you live yoga, you become yoga – you find your yoga & emerge from the heart!

Created by Michelina Payetta + guest teachers Madison Canary-Onufer & Wendy Hassenpflug in 2023-2024.  Offered with immense love & gratitude for the practice of yoga & all who were the teachers who taught the students – who became teachers – who taught the students…as the ancestry continues with My Yoga Teacher Training.

Michelina (Lead Trainer): Prior to My Yoga Canyon Country and creating this YTT 200, she taught yoga in various Southern California regions: Orange County, Long Beach, Temecula Valley, Mammoth, Wrightwood, and locally in Santa Clarita. She also taught yoga in Portland, Oregon. One of Michelina’s Portland ventures involved having a yoga studio named Yogapawse, combining her love for cats and passion for yoga within a cat themed yoga space.
Michelina is an E-RYT 500 certified yoga teacher via yoga alliance. She is also certified in 40 hours of Bhakti Yoga, 20 hours of Restorative Yoga, and 25 hours in Yoga Nidra. She has completed 20 hours of Yin Yoga study and 30 hours of Yoga Align Level 1 Yoga Wall Teacher Training. Beyond yoga love she is also a Usui/Holy Fire ® III Reiki Master. Michelina also holds a BS in Kinesiology with a double focus: Fitness and Health and Physical Education, along with a K-12 Physical Education teaching credential, and minor in English.

It is with immense heart and honor for her to share depths within the rich practice of yoga through My Yoga Teacher Training.  A true gift to give.

Madison (Guest Teacher): Madison came to yoga after 10 years as a ballerina left her body injured and unable to move. It was yoga that brought her body and spirit back to life! Yoga is her excuse to talk about the big questions; why we are here and where we are going. She started searching as a child and has continued through her studies in philosophy, spirituality and psychology. Following the path of the Yoga Sutras, she seeks to move your physical body as a way to help you calm your mind and gain access to your soul. Her classes are active, creative and dynamic with lots of good music with less emphasis on some idea of postural perfection and more on who you are as you move through life and the poses. Her great honor is leading Ra Yoga’s 300-hour training, joining My Yoga Canyon Country 200-hour training as a guest teacher, and mentoring new teachers on the path.

Wendy (Guest Teacher): MS, E-RYT, CPT, is a yoga and wellness entrepreneur. She is the owner and founder of Vayu Yoga®, an aerial yoga practice. She is originally from West Palm Beach, Florida, and has resided in Santa Clarita, California since 2001. Wendy has over 28 years of experience teaching dance, yoga, Pilates, fitness and somatic (mind-body) practices to students of all ages in private and public sectors. She is a certified personal trainer, holistic nutritionist, E-RYT200 and certified Pilates teacher. She has been a professor in the Kinesiology department at California State University, Northridge, since 2009, as well as the dance department at College of the Canyons. Wendy assists others in finding their true potential by consciously and consistently becoming better versions of themselves, each and every day.

The teacher training program at My Yoga Canyon Country, created and led by Michelina Payetta was carefully and beautifully prepared for us for smooth implementation amid the whirlwind that life was January-June 2025. The program included weekly sessions as well as monthly weekend intensives, which made it accessible for me. I live way up north on Mount Shasta, and the program was in Santa Clarita! So, I was able to plan a monthly trip involving the intensive weekend sandwiched by 2 days of driving. I was able to attend the weekly sessions via zoom. Michelina’s style of teaching allowed us to explore the rich landscape of yoga philosophy and practice with ease and grace, as I began to understand, pretty much right away, that I am simply in my beginnings as a serious student. This was a revelation to me in and of itself, that I’d finally arrived and found my focus of study in life. I wish I had found it years ago, but I am grateful to be making this beginning now. Michelina’s teaching style was precise and without compromise of the depth of her understanding, consistent, loving and all inclusive of our life experiences. She guided us to each have our own discovery, a pathway that stretches far into the future and rest of my life. I am so grateful to have had this time with her and the other students. I highly recommend this school and this training for serious yoga students. – Janet Demeter
