Mystical Music & Mantra + Cacao Ceremony with Ashley & Michelina – November
Date: November 18th
Time: 11:00am-1:30pm
Ashley will be guiding us through a cacao ceremony intended to open our hearts to receive the music and mantra. Giving the space to allow our voices and personal expression to be heard. She will also be providing sound healing alongside Michelina’s Harmonium through crystal singing bowls, tingsha bells, buffalo drum and chimes. Curious about what Cacao is before saying yes? Read on here!
Cacao is a sacred elixir that has been used since ancient times to open the heart and connect us deeply with our bodies and the earth. Cacao is considered a plant medicine and an ally in supporting our spiritual and personal growth. It has two main properties, theobromine which stimulates oxygenation in the blood, assisting in opening the heart through increase in blood flow on a physical level. Anandamide is another property, Ananda in Sanskrit means “Bliss” this is a bliss compound that creates an uplifting feeling when we sit and enjoy the elixir of cacao. When cacao is consumed ceremonially, we allow ourselves to be guided by the heart and can more easily become the compassionate observer (vs the critical observer) or our emotions and thoughts, creating more space for love and acceptance to overcome fears.
We invite Cacao as part of this workshop to support all of the above and to allow ourselves to be heard through the voice of our soul ~ in song!
Lastly, we will be sitting with Cacao Laboratory Ceremonial Grade Cacao in this ceremony, if you still would love to learn more, they have an abundance of information on their website – cacaolaboratory.com
Michelina will be sharing stories of yoga mythology and folklore that incorporate the Deities and characters of yoga lineage. Alongside each story there will be a song that Michelina will share with music and mantra. The music component will be the harmonium. The mantras will be our voices. Michelina will also have the Sanskrit of each mantra typed out. She will teach and translate if you feel inclined to sing along!

Ashley
Ashley has been a Reiki Master Practitioner and Teacher since January 2019. Reiki has been a healing path, a spiritual journey and her true calling. Throughout her life, different scenarios had left her feeling stifled in her voice, not able to speak up or sing openly in the way she did as a child. When learning Karuna Reiki Master in April 2021, this included a chanting and toning piece of the course and unlocked new levels of healing in the heart and the throat – allowing her voice to be heard! Since, she has written some of her own music and chants that she shares in ceremonies. Ashley is an avid learner of all spirituality and its connection to the reflection of our own Divinity. Through finding her voice, the incredible power of chanting and mantras has created deep healing and profound experiences in her personal practice and is looking forward to sharing this space with others! Ashley was first introduced to Cacao in 2020 and started working with Cacao as a daily practice in March of 2021. She believes Cacao and its heart-opening properties, combined with the compassionate energy of Karuna Reiki has introduced her into a more holistic life of being able to utilize her voice in countless scenarios besides singing and is truly empowering, intending to bring the same empowerment, compassionate and loving energy to our workshop!
Michelina has learned about the mythological stories in connection to the yoga lineage through teacher trainings and self-study. She loves sharing these stories and intertwining the characteristics and elements that you can utilize in the practice of yoga and life. Michelina was first introduced to a harmonium in her 300 hour teacher training, 6 years ago. She played one chord and knew that one day she would have and learn this instrument, alongside using it as a tool for teaching. About 4 years ago she ordered the harmonium from India as a Birthday present to herself, and taught herself. She took a 30 hour Bhakti Yoga course while she was learning the harmonium which expanded on the mantras, chanting, and the love and devotion of yoga. Bhakti meaning: loving devotion. In this course she took a journey in cracking open her heart and voice, dove deeper into her personal practice, and is beyond grateful to share pieces of this path with you.
