- Coping Strategies – introduce healthy coping mechanisms + the importance of self-care.
- Sharing Stories: Living Memories – a space for participants to share memories or stories about loved ones.

Joanna will be facilitating exploration of specific questions around grief and encouraging people to share what brought them to the group space. She highly encourages anyone to participate and wants people to know that their grief is valid & invites people to drop any type of comparison to others in this space, such as “their grief or my grief is worse”. One person’s grief or loss is not better or worse compared to another- it simply is what it is. She hopes to create a safe container for people to share openly and plans to identify group guidelines to create this safe container.
Michelina will be holding space for the body incorporation alongside mind and spirit within the realms of grief and loss. There will be opportunity to move through specific shapes that support you in tapping into the sensations that naturally take place when connecting and feeling into the concepts of this offering. This will follow with a Yoga Nidra guided meditation that will serve as healing in navigating through the emotions, coping, and responses to your losses.
This workshop will be a safe space to share & discuss the challenging components of grief & loss. Coping strategies will be offered alongside time to share living memories of your loved ones passed. Furthermore body + mind + spirit connection alongside the healing entity of yoga to support in navigating with these challenging components that we all experience.
Joanna is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who is passionate about providing space via individual therapy, groups and workshops for individuals to process grief and loss. She has training on this subject and years of experience in holding space for people with various types of losses including the loss of loved ones, divorce, death of a child, health, work, and identity. From a personal perspective Joanna has experienced various losses starting at the age of 8 when her paternal uncle died that she never got to meet, and understands that loss can be complex and overtime tends to compound.
Michelina has a strong connection to the rich practice of yoga and its ability to heal. This offering opens up yet another healing opportunity through grief and loss – a component of life that may not be as openly addressed. It is with a tender heart that she is honored to tap into this space that can be extremely supportive in navigating your path – especially during this time of year. Furthermore, she is grateful to be sharing alongside Joanna who has chosen to dial in her life purpose to psychology + therapy to help others.
